Our Organisation

Our Organisation - Sangkheum Center for children is successful working project between the Italian Non Governmental Orgainisation Progetto Continenti and the Khmer Angkor Organization (KADO). The combination of international aid and local co-operation has provided an ideal partnership to ensure the future of many Cambodian children.

Progetto Continenti

Progetto Continenti is an officially recognised Italian non-government organisation that focuses on projects for the most vulnerable groups in developing countries – women, children, disabled, displaced and persons in severe poverty. Since 1989, Progetto Continenti has assisted nearly 100 development projects in Asia, South America, Africa and Europe. It receives funding from European Community grants, local and federal Italian governments, private foundations and donors.

Khmer Angkor Development Organisation

The Khmer Angkor Development Organisation (KADO) was officially registered as a Cambodian non-government organization in February 1999. As well as the Sangkheum Center’s activities in Siem Reap, the KADO-Progetto Continenti partnership also runs community development projects in Oddor Meanchey Province including water supply management, health education and capacity building. KADO also receives funding through the World Food Program, UNFAO, Child Support Network and private donations.

The project plan aims to see Sangkheum Center under complete local management, when Progetto Continenti will withdraw from on the ground activities, although it will continue as partner in a fundraising and advisory capacity.
